Car Auctions and Women

July 3, 2009 | cheap rental car rates

Women don’t enjoy walking around big parking lots, surrounded by sellers that regard them with superiority or don’t bother answering their questions. Some seller still live in medieval times, and think that women will never buy a car, not only because they don’t have the money, but also because they don’t need it. Women who still buy from car auctions escape all these nasty looks by bringing a male acquaintance along and asking him to place bids for them, on cars they want to buy.

If a woman want to avoid the uncomfortable situation of being addressed by a salesman that thinks he is Dan Juan, they either leave home or don’t come at all and try the online auctions. The internet can not make the difference between genders. The other buyers can not see you, you are safely at home behind the computer screen and can bid freely.

Those who say women don’t know what they want are very wrong. If they intend to be the owners of a used Chrysler crossfire , then you can be sure they will buy one today. Maybe this is why men think they don’t know how to make good deals, because women will makes bids only a few cars, the ones they like, until they get one of them But they are aware of what they are doing, only that they really want it and don’t intend to go home without it. Salesmen try to rush women away from auctions. A man that loses a car to a woman can get very angry. That’s why most women resume to online auctions. If a man sees a good deal, he will get it even if he came for something else, but a woman won’t care because she knows she wants something else. If a woman want a family car, then that’s what she will get even if it’s the season when family cars are overpriced. Women can do the most amazing searches and find the gold beneath the caves. Women do find the things they look for eventually, and can even obtain good prices online. The only moment in witch women are advantaged at live auctions is when they are sellers themselves, because they will benefit form extra attention from buyers and that means free car advertising.

Shop For An Inexpensive Car

July 2, 2009 | cheap rental car rates

Cars are a symbol of power.  Everyone has heard of the celebrities with massive collections of expensive cars, or custom built garages to accommodate their cars in the heart of an expensive city like New York.  An inexpensive car is the way to go for some folks.  Cheap in price doesn’t have to mean cheap in quality.  Fun can be had with a less expensive car.

Buy a discounted used car if you want to save some cash.  Second hand luxury models are cheaper than new.  A new term has emerged over the last decade, pre-owned – to denote used cars that are of high quality.  Some people who always bought new have crossed over into pre-owned.  Consider top model cars.  Even after 10 years a well built Lexus can look and drive like new.  In fact, many people have generations of car buyers in their family who always purchase higher end models that are used.Remember the chauffeur in “Driving Miss Daisy”?  He always bought Miss Daisy’s second hand, luxury cars.

Some cheap new cars are quite nice, too.  The Hyundai Elantra is a quality car under $12,000.  A well engineered car like the Honda Civic is only around $15K.  That’s a good car that gets great mileage and lasts forever.  Cheaper cars are also generally less costly to maintain, and they don’t require premium gasoline.

Another area to look is cheaper, if not really cheap, luxury cars.  The Audi brand is generally at the bottom portion of the price spectrum in the luxury class.  These are the best engineered in the world, nobody beats them.  A less expensive luxury sports car is the Audi TT.

Of course some people want cheap, cheaper, cheapest.  They turn to the clunker, the hooptie, the ancient model car that was probably old when their parents first bought a car.  Teens often buy this style of car.  This type of car is good practice for a life of car care, and it gets the job done.  When doing car comparisons be aware that what you see is what you get, even with cheap cars.  When the car overheats, you won’t be happy.

Expensive Cars Can Be Cheap Sometimes

July 1, 2009 | cheap rental car rates

If you tell me you’ve never dreamt of a car that has much to say when seen, then you are lying. Don’t think only of new line cars that are a true work of art as they come. The cars I’m talking about are those personalized cars that are unrecognizable after the makeover. The discussion is about cars that can be watched on TV, driven by an eccentric celebrity, cars that remind with nothing of the original model they come from. This type of cars is often sold in car auctions. Of course, the prices are in perfect accordance with the manufacturer’s reputation and name. The good news if that in these auction you can also find less famous producers. There are plenty other car workshops that produce excellent customizing around the world. And cars that come from these small workshops are equally glamorous as famous cars personalized by famous names in the business, even if the number sold in one year is very low.

On special events, you might even be able to attend a special kind of car auctions witch sells only luxurious cars. You can find all about location, duration and emplacement of these auctions by simply browsing the net, as it is now the most resourceful media type. If such a car auction is held near your home town, you should go take a look even if you think you won’t be able to place any bids. The chances are that sellers witch produce luxury cars but are not famous in the field will also try to enter the event. And the best thing about these cars is that they won’t be an interest point for those who came ready to buy themselves cars that cost hundreds of thousands, simply because those people only bid on cars developed by well-known workshops. You can also orientate towards luxurious cars sold by individuals, like used imperial Chrysler and this cars will also don’t offer much concurrency, so there’s a good chance of getting a good price.

It’s worth the chance to place a bid on a superb car, you might be even buying it for the price of a second hand one. Going to luxury car auctions might pay up even with a splendid strong and beautiful car, for a very low price, a car that can make your teenage speed dreams come true.

Avoid Speeding Fines - Understand the Reasons You Speed

July 1, 2009 | cheap rental car rates

Speeding Fines.

Nobody wants to get them. However, it’s pretty easy to start speeding and before you know it you end up with a fine. The roads today are littered with speed cameras, speed traps and traffic police - so its easy to get points, receive speeding fines and even lose your license - all in a single day. Its always worth taking a few moments for self analysis to try and understand why you speed - after all prevention is better than cure. There are several common and basic reasons that people end up speeding. Once you understand what they are, then you can work on fixing the problem so you don’t get a fine. These are the most common reasons people speed, and how to avoid them in the future.

Reason #1 - You Don’t Notice the Speed Changed - One of the main reasons that people end up speeding, which often results in speeding fines, is because they don’t even realize that the speed limit has changed. On many of the roads across the UK, you’ll find that the speed does change from time to time. On many roads the speed limit actually changes, and it is, unfortunately, easy to miss if you aren’t paying attention. Before you know it you end up being pulled over and given a ticket for speeding, and you never even realized you were doing something wrong. A speed change is one of the main reasons that people end up paying fines - so stay focussed.

The Solution:
If you are not the most observant driver and notice speed changes, there are other things you can do to mitigate this, and avoid speeding fines. Never get complacent, always look out for road signs. Instead of paying so much attention to everything else, keep watchful for speed limit signs and also keep an eye on other vehicles around you. When you notice other vehicles slowing down, it may be because the speed has changed.

Reason #2 - You are Not Concentrating on Driving - Another of the common reasons that people end up getting speeding fines is because they were not concentrating on driving. Unfortunately, the quality and comfort of cars today make it all to simple to travel from a to b, without having to pay that much attention to actually driving. Keep focussed, and switch off distractions where you can, including the radio and even talking in some cases. If you are distracted, it’s easy to start going a bit faster, and soon you are speeding and you end up getting caught by a camera going far too fast.

The Answer:
Do you want to remedy this situation? Remember, concentration is a key aspect when driving, even after you pass your test - if not more so. Try to avoid things that take your mind off what you are doing. Focus on your speed. Simply glance to the speedometer and check regulary how fast you are travelling. This way you don’t just go speeding off, and end up with a hefty speeding fine.

Reason #3 - Road Aggression - This is one of the key reasons why people end up speeding today. If you are upset or annoyed, its easy to speed without realising. Dont get hot and mad, and antagonised because if you do your driving will become reckless. If you arent’ focussed on the driving, and are wound up - or in a unsafe state of mind to drive, you’ll probably end up speeding without realising, and before you know it you’ll have broken a speed limit somewhere.

The Answer:
The answer is simple - if you aren’t calm, dont drive. Is a speeding fine really going to make you feel better, compared to being a few minutes late. Number one rule is not get mad and keep a cool temper if you are driving. This may not only result in a speeding ticket, but driving aggressively could get you in bigger trouble, or even in a bad vehicle crash.

Reason #4 - Running Late - Running late is one of the big reasons so many people end up speeding around. They end up speeding just to make it a few moments earlier, when in fact in trying to drop the kids off or make it to work, they have endanged the lives of others, and incurred a speeding fine - is it really worth it. In a split second you’ll have incurred a speeding fines, and you wont even know its happened.

How to Fix It:
Sadly something so simple is often the reason people end up getting a fine for speeding. More haste, less speed - seriously, its easy to speed when you think you’re going to be later. The only way to avoid being late, and justifying it by speeding, is to leave early. If you are running behind, call ahead to let someone know. I’m sure you’d rather pay the fine, than end up being in a serious accident, when you are simply trying not to be late.

Reason #5 - The Road Seems Deserted - Dont take this as an excuse to speed, you never know who is around the corner. Ignorance isn’t bliss - dont speed simply because it looks safe. Even at night its not safe to speed, the road may be clear but the speed traps dont. Just when you think it’s okay to go a bit faster, you may end up with a speeding fine.

The Answer:
If the road is quiet, this doesn’t give you permission to speed. In reality, none of us know what we are going to meet on the road. If you really want to avoid speeding fines, then simply just follow the speed limits.
